Rena is a recently certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) graduating from Ajna Yoga College in Victoria, BC. She is passionate about meeting people where they are at, helping them to discover tools to rebuild relationship with their mind and body through the ancient art and science of yoga, to help provide more ease into their daily life. She teaches from a compassionate and trauma-sensitive lens, helping clients to reach their personal goals, using interoceptive and embodied awareness practices.

Throughout her Yoga Therapy practicum, she created and taught Yoga Therapy group series focusing on graceful aging, back care, working from home and overall stress management. These sessions benefited people with persistent pain, chronic health conditions, arthritis, and those dealing with chronic inflammation and stress, through gentle movements, nourishing fascia and joints, breath (pranayama), meditation and other yoga techniques. She has also taught yoga programming for children and teens for daycare and competitive swim organization, Pacific Coast Swimmers, and regularly teaches restorative yoga classes.

In addition to her background in Yoga Therapy, Rena has always had a passion for building more inclusive and connected communities, which stems from her many years as a public school music educator. She has taught yoga and mindfulness within her school community, facilitated and then volunteered with Mindfulness Everyday (a non-profit organization teaching stress reduction and mindfulness programs), and led mindfulness and yoga workshops.

During her free time, you can find Rena adventuring on the island with her husband, dog, family and friends, studying and practicing yoga, reading books, and exploring various musical instruments.
