Expecting a new addition soon? Are you and your pelvic floor prepared?

Agile is excited to be offering 6-week 90 minute prenatal Baby & Birth Prep Classes! These 6 weeks will include education and information on antenatal preparation, labor and delivery, pain management, birthing options & positions, reducing the risks of perineal tears as well as postpartum care, guiding you through your 4th trimester and your return to activity.

These classes are a mix of education as well as exercise classes to strengthen and prepare your pelvic floor as well as teaching birthing positions and hands on skills for during labour for you and your birthing partner.  Sessions will be led by our incredible pelvic health physiotherapy team as well as guest practitioners to lead specialist topics! There are resources and handouts each week so you have everything to hand!

Classes are recommended when entering the 3rd trimester (27 weeks and later), as you will be able to get the most out of these classes. However, if you wanted to attend earlier please give us a call! We will be trying to group attendees together by due date as to create a community to support you through this new phase of life!

Some of the topics covered will include:

·      Pelvic floor strengthening education & practical classes

(please wear comfortable clothes you can move in)

·      Preparing the body for labour

·      Suggestions for what to take to the hospital

·      Birthing positions

·      Vaginal versus C-Section (pros & cons)

·      Nutrition in the 3rd & 4th trimesters

This course also includes a 30-minute pelvic floor and MSK assessment with one of our physiotherapists specializing in pelvic health in order to asses your baseline pelvic floor to assist with adjustments during the exercise portion of the classes if needed that are specific to you!

It is advised that you book your Pelvic Health 1-2-1 Assessment no more than 4 weeks prior to the start of the course!

Baby & Birth Course

    Classes will take place at Agile, located at 1109 Fort Street. Please be aware there is free 2-hour parking on Meares Street, behind the building.

    Next course: Starting Thursday 18th January 2024 at 6pm. Classes are 90minutes long.

    2024 course dates are: 7th March, 25th April, 13th June, 1st August, 19th September and 7th November. All dates for 2024 are live, and can been booked by clicking ‘Book Now’.
