Peter De Vette - Registered Physiotherapist

Qualifications and Training: BSc Physical Therapy, CBI Courses Level 1, Foundation Ergonomics, Manual therapy & Exercise, Mary Pack Arthritis Continuing Education Program, Falls Prevention Course.

Professional Membership: College Of Physical Therapists of BC (CPTBC), Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) - Including Seniors Health special interest division.

Peter has varied work experience in out- patient orthopaedic rehabilitation, occupational rehabilitation, working at care facilities/providing home care and extensive experience in private practice, treating people from all walks of life.

Peter has treated patients with a wide variety of orthopaedic conditions (osteoarthritis, R.A., total joint replacements, amputations) as well as sports or day to day related joint and soft tissue challenges. Aside from post graduate manual therapy courses, he has additional training through the Arthritis Society in treating arthritic conditions. Peter has always been a 'hands on' type therapist. His approach to helping solve problems includes integrating with other practitioners to work as a team, and empowering his patients to remain as independent as possible. Individually tailored exercises and hands-on treatment are used, treating the specific needs of the whole person, building on strengths with a positive outlook. 

Peter has been working as a physiotherapist for over 34 years. He was born and raised in the Netherlands, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy at The Hague Academy for Physiotherapy in 1987. After working in Portugal for 3 years, Peter and his wife immigrated to Canada in 1990 and haven’t looked back since. ‘We are really enjoying living in Victoria after moving here in 2016’.
