Nicole Baker - Registered Massage Therapist

Qualifications & Training: Registered Massage Therapist

Professional Membership: College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC)

Nicole graduated from the 3000 hour program at West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2013 and promptly began practice at Mainland Massage Therapy in downtown Vancouver for 7 years. She currently also works at Grandview Health Group in Surrey, since May 2020. Nicole integrates a number of treatment techniques including Swedish massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue massage, and Joint Mobilizations. She takes particular interest in helping people who suffer with symptoms related  to headaches, TMJ dysfunction, running, motor vehicle accidents, breast and chest surgeries, postural imbalances and pregnancy. Working with clients to establish a thorough history and providing recommendations for client self care, Nicole strives to alleviate symptoms to achieve client goals and prevent recurrence.

In combination with practice, Nicole has worked as a T.A and clinic instructor at both WCCMT and Langara College within the massage therapy programs. Nicole was a part of the BC Bike Race Wellness team from 2016-2019 and traveled the week-long mountain bike race annually, treating riders from around the world. Recently, she has become a teaching assistant with The Mastectomy Guide, who’s mission is to fill the gap in breast and chest surgery rehabilitation across North America, helping run RMT courses.

When exciting opportunities collide with the use of her skill set, Nicole is the first to jump on unique experiences. Since 2017, she has volunteered her time to be involved with TED talks in Vancouver, providing massages to attendees. Other volunteer work includes experience at BC Women’s hospital, The Ride to Conquer Cancer, Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, Vancouver Triathlon, Whistler Gran Fondo, George Pearson Centre, and Canuck Place Adventure Race. These experiences have led her to treat a wide patient population that includes hospice patients, pregnant women, children and professional athletes.

When not in the clinic, you can find Nicole outside in her new neighbourhood of Victoria, with her husband and dog (Bruce)! Running, hiking, cooking and travel are some other interests that keep her busy.
